Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026

Purlbook is a knitting and crochet companion for iPhone. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data.

Your projects never leave your device

Everything you put into Purlbook stays in the app’s own container on your iPhone: project names and notes, counter names and values, pattern PDFs, photos, yarn and needle records, and your settings. Nothing you create is uploaded, synced or backed up by us. There is no server, no account and no sign-in. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Photos are added through the iOS photo picker, which lets you choose individual pictures without giving the app access to your library. Pattern PDFs are chosen through the iOS file picker in the same way.

No analytics, no tracking

Purlbook has no analytics and no crash reporting. There is no third-party SDK in the app, so there is nothing to opt out of and nothing to configure.

It makes no network requests of its own at all. The only network traffic is Apple’s own: the App Store handling a purchase or a restore, and these pages opening in your browser if you tap a link inside the app.

We do not use the advertising identifier, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are handled by Apple. Purlbook never sees your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether Purlbook Pro is active.

Live Activities and widgets

The lock-screen counter and widgets read your current counter from a shared container on your device. They make no network requests.

Children

Purlbook is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes
